I let my friend keep my 2 month old baby so I could go get some hospital tests done for my new insurance. My baby is formula fed, and I left my friend several bottles, just in case. Anyhow, I return to find my now ex-friend breastfeeding my baby alongside her 14 month old whom she still nurses. I was livid, and I blacked out on her, and called her everything short of a child of God. First of all, I left food for my son, 5 bottles to be exact. Sceond of all, that's just SICK, and she did not ask my permission. Third, and likely most important, a while back when I was still pregnant with Joshua, she was undergoing screening for Hep. C, so I have no idea if she has it or not...all I know is I made my son an emergency appointment first thing tomorrow to get a preliminary blood work drawn up, and he has to return in 6 weeks to find out if it's conclusive (yea or nay). I am so nervous and angry. I could really hurt her, so I'm keeping my distance. I can't beleive she do something like this.

I think what you did was great an the right thing to do for such that short amount of time that you had saw what had happen. I just think that your friend thought that maybe babies should be breast feed but that doesn't give her the right to be breastfeeding your son... with or without your permission. That is not up to her because she is not the mother of Joshua. An if she knows that she has Hep C then what the hell was she thinking about an why is she still breastfeeding her 14 month old daughter/son. But that's just my opinion.

OMG...I feel so sorry for you. :( Especially since this lady (well, she's no lady in my book...this "female" might be sick with Hepatitis.
What exactly, out of curiousity, was her reasoning for doing this? Is she one of those freakazoid LaLeche League people who think women who formula feed (even those such as myself who PHYSICALLY CAN'T breastfeed) should burn in hell? This is making me sick...I feel terrible for you.
The only thing that I can think (and I know it's no consolation) is that back in the day, women used to use "wet nurses". This is before commercial formula was out. You either breastfed or used a wet nurse...a lactating woman who would feed your baby for you. I assume you trust this lady, she's clean, has a clean house, her child is healthy...so maybe, just maybe, she doesn't have Hep. C. Like I said, it's no consolation, but maybe things will work out.
I feel so sick about this. I'm not an overly religious person...I do believe in God, but I'm not an every Sunday churchgoer. I will, however, pray for the health of your baby. This should have never happened.

I am assuming she was a good friend since you left your baby with her soo....if i was in your shoes i would let her know i was pissed off only b/c she had did something that i did not OK at all and i would ask her what she was thinking when she decided to breast feed a baby when she had thought she had Hep. C, but regardless of anything she would have said i would have probably drawn the line right then and there...other than that i dont know what else to tell you but good luck to you

Not cool. As far as hep c goes, there is no medical evidence that it is passed through milk production, so I really wouldn't stress about that. But as far as she goes, she really crossed a line and needs some serious help.
I think I would report her to the Department of Children and Families or whatever agency you have in your state. What she is doing is not right, she needs help and someone needs to make sure she doesn't do this to anyone else.

She crossed the line for not asking for your permission. And I hope that she is Hepa C negative. But I don't think that she will be breastfeeding her baby if she is positive with hepa.
But really, breastmilk is still best for the baby. I don't know what your friend is thinking, but if she is really your friend, i am sure she means no harm.
There are still hospitals who promotes mothers milk for newborns. They even ask for a stranger to feed your baby when you are still dry, and for you to feed a strangers infant when the babies mother is not ready yet. They will not even allow you to bring formula in the hospital.

OMG That was extremely not called for, she should of known better. Keep your distance you don't have to talk with her unless absolutely necessary. I hope all is well with your baby and the test results. Good luck.

I would press charges against her she is no friend , who knows how many more babies she has done this to, breastfeeding or bottling feeding is the baby's mothers choice witch is you and no one else, I would think she can be charged with sexual abuse

That is extremely wrong. Quit being friends with her since you obviously can't trust her or her judgement. I'm sorry that happened, and I hope your baby is healthy and his tests come back wonderful.

That was waaaaay beyond crossing the line. I would, first, make sure that your baby is okay. After that, I would be civil with her if you meet her in public but I would make no effort to be friends with her after that.
