Dilaudid, stronger than morphine but with less side effects. Given at hospital and yes it works very well thank God.

That is thorugh i.v. or injection.

Vico Profen tablets work very well at home if you have severe permanent pain. Its like Vicodin but no acetaminophen (which damages the liver) its got Ibuprofen instead (codeine and Ibuprofen= VicoProfen).

Percocet which is supposed to be stronger than Vico Profen is horrible. It did not take my pain away and only gave me pancreatic pain added to what I already was in pain for.

It depends what kind of pain for what type of painkiller.
Toothaches? Vicoprofen or Vicodin works good.

Dilaudid is for extreme pain that does not subside , like pancreatitis. Something that happens often to me because of a medical condition called Cystic Fibrosis.

However do not start on painkillers just for any slight pain, they are strong medications and habit forming so try not to. Many people use them as candy and that is wrong because when they really need a painkiller they will have run out of options and then what?

When I developed a kidney stone, was given morphine drip in the hospital. Had Fenigan or something like that when I had my gall bladder removed (afterwords) good stuff. I was given a straight drip of demoral when I had pancreatitis a few years ago. That was some awesome stuff. Currenlty take vicodin occationally since I can't take asprin or tylenol. . . Works ok for minor aches and pains...

Probably Demmerol after I had surgery when I was 19. Yes it worked pretty good. I must have been awake for a total of maybe 35 minutes that whole week.

I was on morphine during a hospital stay. it worked for the most part, but as soon as it wore off and I didn't have another dose right away I could definitely tell.

Morphine..for a badly fractured arm, later at the worst stages of a prolonged illness..it really works..its a "last ditch" solution in my mind. The first thought that occurred to me was holey moley you could sure get hooked on this! Seeing my stepfather's pain eased in the last stages, and others made me think...a humane drug.PS..I'm going to try your Japanese Kindergarten test on the professionals at work..do you think they'll pass?LOL

Well, I'm not as hardcore as the rest of these guys! I don't know what they gave me during/right after my surgery, it was through an IV and it worked within seconds and was wonderful, but perscription was oxycodone (did not work at all) and vicodin and vicodin ES (both work well) Percocet is also pretty good as is Demerol, I have heard...

Morphine. I had knee surgery (sp?). I thought the little drip bag holder thing was talking to me in an Australian voice. No lie. It was as real as the nurse who was in there all the time. And I could hear my heart beat really loudly. LOUDLY. Thump thump. Like I was ready to die. I didn't hurt one bit though. Wow, that was some strong stuff.
