Recently in my hometown of Roseburg, Oregon a woman and her boyfriend were arrested for delivery of methamphetamine....... for the fourth time...... someone please tell me how the hell this happens, how do you get busted four times dealing POISON {that’s what it’s made of}. They will probably end up out of jail within a year or two and be right back at it in no time.
Normally I an for things like smaller government and less government control of our lives. That said, I feel they need to protect the innocent in this country. Have you ever seen a picture of a meth lab? They are disgusting! And many of these degenerates have children inhaling the TOXIC fumes from them cooking this poison.
On May 4 2005 Dan Eggen of the Washington post reported that Marijuana had become the focus of the “Drug War”........ you have got to be kidding me.. The government is going to spend our resources on going after pot-heads and spend less time concentrating on the real drug threats like cocaine METH and heroin.... Am I alone on this or does this make no sense whatsoever!!! Heroin and coke are two of the most highly addictive drugs on this planet and there is tons of it. Meth is made from rat poison and is destroying my community. And they’re going after POT.
People kill for heroin and cocaine when was the last time you heard of a pot-head getting stoned and going on a rampage YOU WON’T. Now I have a solution that will solve many problems including addiction to hard drugs.
The first thing that needs done is the legalization, and subsequent regulation of marijuana by the ATF. This action will allow for fewer arrests and eliminate the criminal element of the plant. Fewer marijuana arrests will allow for more energy and money to be focused on the cocain and heroin traffickers, and what would make me even happier more money for an intense crackdown on methlabs, dealers and users.
Drug penalties must be severe, however one has to be careful. I say we form a two part system in the first one they are required to detox in a government run facility step two they are sent to be part of a labor camp were they will work off you debt to society on public works projects, or leased to private farms as a cheap alternative to illegal immigrant labor. With this system they are literally paying their debt to society. With these institutions I can almost guarantee a reduction in recidivism rates and who knows maybe the government will start winning their “Drug War”
As a closing note, vast amounts of illegal marijuana comes from the organized drug cartels in Mexico now legalizing pot will take a way a huge source of their revenue and weaken the grip they have on our neighbor to the south.

I cant speak for anyone else because I try to live by the saying To each his own. But I can say I care on one count. When people dont have enough common sense (either naturally or because they smoaked it away) to stay out of a vehicle, which tends to bring them and innocent bystanders into my Trauma Center where we have to try to peice these people back together. Last week a 19 year old and his 17 year old girlfriend were brought in after the boyfriend ran into a tree literally splitting the car in half. He had been smoking, she had not. He died from his injuries the next day leaving his mother, father and younger brother to grieve and pay off the ungodley medical bills that acumulated for him and his girlfriend. Not to mention his mother was now out a brand new vehicle. Last I knew the girl was still on a Ventilator, had been through at least a half a dozen surgeries, her face is completely mutilated and she has lost vision in her left eye. There is still no gurantee she will survive. If she does survive she will have to live the rest of her life severely deformed and disabled, he got off easy when he died. Im pretty sure her mother cares that people smoke pot!

Because it's illegal. If I was standing next to you and you were smoking pot, I wouldn't care what kind of person you are, I wouldn't care about the negative or positive effects of pot on your brain or in your life... none of that would make me judge you... but I would care because if I was caught next to you, I'd get arrested right along with you for being in the presence of something that's against the law. Therefore, I'd avoid you like the plague.

Because they have nothing else to complain about. If you wanna smoke pot and don't get in trouble buying, growing or smoking no one should care. When they legalize it then all these people who are giving us a bad rap will be smoking themselves. Do you just be smart and discrete as it is still and illegal substance.

I don't care if a bunch of losers go out and kill themselves or destroy their minds by smoking pot, as long as they do it far away from me. Unfortunately, that's impossible. What I do care about is if any of them rob me to pay for their drugs, kill me by getting into a car while under the influence, or pollute the air around me with the stench of weed. That's why I'm glad it is illegal to smoke pot.

I care because I have seen many family members and friends throw their lives away because of it. They chose to live in debt or on the street so they can smoke a couple bowls a day. They cannot be relied on and they do things that can never be forgiven because they don't know it's wrong.
Plus, I did it for quite awhile and saw where I was headed and figured out that life can be fun without being high or drunk. Enjoy life for itself and do wild and crazy things that you will remember the next day.
I'm just looking out for my friends and family.

I don't want some pot head driving on the highway where he could kill me or some child. I don't want my health ins to go up any higher because pot heads develop all kinds of health problems. And why should I pay SSI to support some pot head who won't work?

Last I checked, it was illegal to grow, sell, buy, or use marijuana unless specified in certain states as medically necessary.
Marijuana dulls the mind, hampers creativity and motivation, and most of all, causes health problems.
The fact that it is associated with so many undesirable people and scenarios, leads me to believe that nothing good can come from it.

I don't know. Maybe they care for them and don't want to see them waste their whole life. I know from experience because my brother's brain is like a 10 year old when in fact he is 28. I've seen so many freakin people end up using other harder drugs and guess what they are doing? Nothing. They lose their jobs, family, homes, apartments, everything. Trust me, I know. It's all around us.
