Setting aside how racist that sounds, because black people have chosen to be called black. Which, considering the many things they have been called, is one of the better choices.
"cute brown"? You don't think that sounds offensive?
How do you perceive Asians as yellow?

This reminds me of a situation I was in a few weeks ago. A manager asked me who was doing what, and I said Dave was doing so and so, and the manager asked me, "Which Dave?" I hesitated for a moment but then said "the dark one". He got a kick out of it. Dave is black.
I prefer "dark-skinned" or "light-skinned" to describe people's skin color. For asians I would say simply "asian" or "asian-type".
Asians usually don't have English words like "yellow" in their vocabulary unless they were born in the USA and taught English. Calling an Asian person "yellow" is uncommon, whereas "black" is a common name/label for a race type that both light-skinned people say and dark-skinned people give to themselves.

Asia is a big continent so you cant call everyone yellow just cause they're asian. It's also because "blacks" dont like being called the "n word" either so they probably wont get mad if u call them "black" but it's not like we should call each other by skin color

Because "Asians" aren't yellow..like white ppl aren't white... It is accepted because many blacks are dark enough to be called Black...
Plus it comes down to the fact that Black peoiple accept being called Black and grps that are colled color names dont.
Im mexican and I hate it when people refer to us as Brown...IM NOT BROWN...I have a cousin that is mistaken for German everyday....
Its a choice....
Also not ALL asians are even remotely yellow....Philipino.

it fairly is a time period that has been used for oriental asians (chinese-jap section asians), certain. appears an older utilization, you discover it in older books and flicks. did not Clouseau call Cato "my little yellow buddy" in between the before purple Panther videos? I look to save in recommendations the time period "yellow hordes" from the early chilly warfare era (Korean warfare situations). various different references i might want to imagine of. possibly it is in basic terms a case of no longer being so yellow as whites are white and blacks are black. American Indians were "purple adult males", do not listen that a lot anymore both, no longer quite an highly functional time period in both case, and it tended to tick off the individuals being referred to as that, i think.

I don't think that it is okay to call African-Americans - Black! In fact it's a total lie to call Caucasian - Americans - white! I've never seen any people the color of white - have you?

because we refer to caucasians as "whites", people of african descent "black" and asians as "asians." basically we refer to some people as a color because it is very difficult to know their true origin.
