Tell 'em where to shove the mower!

Depends on the humidity.

When I was living in west Texas, it was bone dry and the temp was well above 100...no problem as long as a person drank enough water (and plenty of beer after the chores are done!).

Now I'm in hot, HUMID Oklahoma and even 90 degrees with an 80% humidity is UNGODLY.
And, not healthy.

Tell your folks that heatstroke is a REAL problem for some people.
And tell them that the pain thresh-hold is different for each person.
If you absolutely have to cut it, do it in the morning or LATE afternoon...take plenty of water breaks and don't over-exert.

Nice answer Dave. There's a lot of worse things that you could be doing than cutting the grass. Try doing something actually strenuous in that kind of heat for a living. Suck it up. My parents made me do it, it's not unreasonable that yours did.

Seeing as you are probably going to be out in it anyway sunbathing: I would take a long cool drink: cut the grass: then tell them they owe me a bloody pint or 3!!!

You can respect your parents and cut the grass, or you can be like 90% of the spoiled ungrateful children these days and grip and belly ache about it.

I would tie a misting fan to the lawn mower and go for it, no I really actually wouldn't, because I am allergic to fresh cut grass. but if I wasn't that is what I would do.

Tell them that if you cut it it will scorch the grass so it would be better off being cut on a dull day!
