Ok, Microsoft XP is getting grey hair, has something like 150,000 Microsoft Virus Definitions, exploits, and bots...

The filesystem actually wears out, thrashes, hard drives!
It is full of vulnerabilities (24 were disclosed only justTHIS WEEK!)
and has flaws that will never be fixed!

Isn't it about time that you tried out one of the FREE, MODERN and NEW OSes that are Virus free!

Here is a very fast, hacker proof/virus free, modern Unix clone that is 8x faster than Microsoft XP on the same equipment, contains hundreds of games, applications, office suites!

Just download it, burn the image straight to CD, and re-boot, to run this gem of a GNU/Linux system, in RAM!

Ok, if you really insist upon suffering the many hours of work required to keep the old Microsoft Boat Anchor alive, barely, then, you NEED and must search Google.com for:
AVG is the HUGE FREE (for individuals) anti-virus program.
CrapCleaner cleans the Microsoft crap!
Shootthemessenger blocks one more open evil port!
Spybot S&D
Lavasoft adaware
and, ONLY run Mozilla Firefox! Internet Exploder and Lookout Express are open roads for ALL the virus and hackers to use to spam your friends, in your address books!

For spyware, get spybot and adaware. They should both be run, necause one usually finds a few that the other missed.

For antivirus, download AVG antivirus. It is 100% free and works very much like Symantec. Can't go wrong for free.

You don't need to format your computer if you get the tools suggested and use them properly.

If you use sbc yahoo, they have a virus protection that is free.

Both yahoo and google toolbars come with pop up blockers

Windows defender on the mircrosoft web page, has a free anti-virus.

But if you don't already have a virus protection program on your computer, and your infected, chances are downloading one now will not solve your problem. Your best bet would be to reformat your computer, reinstall windows, to get it clean and go out and buy a virus protection program, such as norton or one of the others, or install the yahoo sbc one.

Norton is really good for spyware, and antivirus, but it costs money

Also, Yahoo toolbar has a pop up blocker for free:

You can also get firewall patches and virus fixes from here, free:

AVG is the best. I used it to replace Norton. Saved myself $90 a year. You can also get a free firewall from ZoneAlarm.
