To answer the second part of your question - for me personally no.

Now back to the beginning. Age difference in dating has both positive and negative connotations for both women and men.
Being a woman, I'll start with my perspecitve. When younger woman dates an older man, something is usualy wrong with him. He's either a sexually deviant predator preying on young women, or is going through a mid life crisis and is looking for that "young thing" to revive his own failing youth. She, on the other hand is "more mature" and is wise to find the security a relationship with an older man brings.

From a male perspective a male, dating an older female, is almost always cool and admired by his male peers. The female in this relationship sometimes gets a stigma of looking for a boy toy.

Now, all what i've said represents a summary of thousands of statements i've heard being said or perceptions being spread by society, media, whomever decides is it necessary to share their view. Hope i helped.

i think that age can play quite a significant role in a relationship. I mean if you're a 50 yr old man going out with a 20 yr old girl, that means that you both were born into completely different era and that man has experienced almost anything and may get fed up with you as you haven't. Therefore, the cracks in the relationship may show. They're just not suited. Stick to someone around your own age

Men mature slower then women, so if a 35 yr. old woman dates a 22 yr old, I ask why? I say for fun, a change. A 35 yr.old man dates a 22 yr. old girl, I ask why? I say, he's having problems dealing with a woman his own age. That's what people say, now you tell me, will it affect your relationship?

Example. You encounter a 16 y.o. high school junior, who look the same age as you at 25. You decide why not? She's coming on to me.
Problem! She has not completed her education and she has not necessarily experienced the same things you have.
Your job as a 25 y.o. is to be a good platonic friend and encourage her to pursue her dreams.
This also holds true with 25, 35, 45 y.o. females chasing your boys!

Age should not matter, but it depends on the couple ( their personalities specifically, how they view life). As far as what people say, it will only affect those who let it affect them.

As long as the couple concerned are comfortable with the age difference, then what others think is consequential. live your life not others

For me it does... younger men are a decided no no!

The way they speak about other people, also tells me more about them, than any personal reference they afford me!
