They are trying to make as much money as cheaply as possible - if you don't ask for a raise they can safely assume you are quite happy with your current salary.

Because your boss Douglas Bannatyne is a scottish businessman, therefore tight. I refused a job at a bannatyne club three years ago and went freelance, best decision i ever made.

Its like the TV chefs they forget their business once they think they are stars. Find a TV chef in his/her restaurant hardly ever.

could be a number of reasons. maybe you don't deserve it or maybe just a rubbish comp to work for, there are lots of those, i work for one!
