Who were the aggressors? How soon can we learn from history? How impartial can ones judgment be on interpenting historical facts?

There is many more questions that pop to my mind when you write this question. What do you call democratic states? There are a lot of nations such as Cuba that has elections to reaffirm the people in power. If you are talking about two democratic states such as the US and Britain, than I can not think of one. Most of the World conflicts that have brought other Nations into it have been because of the UN trying to keep the peace.

Israel and Lebanon.
Israel is the aggressor, attacking Lebanon for the acts committed by a militant faction inside Lebanon for which the rest of the country is not responsible.
