Mason is hampered in recruiting by Minnesota's less-than-glorious football tradition and a horrible stadium that's not on campus. Still, he manages to win more than he loses and has a great running scheme. Carr has been more successful than Mason, but starts with a lot better talent due to Michigan's notoriety and athletic boosters. I think Mason would have just as much success coaching Michigan as Carr has, but I doubt Carr would equal Mason's performance if he coached the Gophers.

As of right now, it's Glen Mason. Lloyd Carr has lost all ability to win the big games. He has lost to Jim Tressel 4 out of 5 times, and his teams get smoked in bowls, like marijuana. The Gophers own Michigan.

I am a Wolverine fan too. Lloyd Carr has been a huge disappointment to me. I was a big fan of Bo. 1997 was great but too many bad bowl games kills me, bad play calling, too conservative play hurts as well.
But Mason isn't the greatest either.
I would say Carr.

Being a Wolverine fan, I'd have to say Lloyd Carr. He did guide them to a National Championship in 1997. I realize the last couple seasons haven't been what we (Wolverine fans) would have expected but They will bounce back.
