Well comin' from one of the wannabe queens of crafts...here's what I think is fun. Home made card for 1. Draw a picture...
Then turn it into a stencil...cut out in inside of your stencil. Put that aside. Then with different grades of paper (I like stock, with different textures and colors) trace you stencil onto the paper.
Add layers to your picture to make a more layered 3-D look.
(example....draw a rose with stem and thorns. But put mounting tabs on top of the rose then another rose on top of it. This brings out the rose and has the greenery less pronounce.
I just finished not to long ago making a white dragon on a black backdrop for my boyfriend as an anniversary card present....
it's about 12 inches high.....and turned out awesome!

Other things that are fun to make....bookmark...cause who doesn't own a book?
If your not drawing art on it....pressed flowers are nice to lamenate with some nice inspirational words added. That way....whoever you give it will always be thinkin' of you when they open their book.

I use lots of different "posh' looking stickers....
designing cut scissors Fiscars paper edgers are great.
Paper punches are fun to because they have so many designs out.

Beading is always fun......my cousin had a large crystal that hung in her kitchen....I took it one day when it wasn't hanging.
Brought home and personalized it with glass beads to match her kitchen. Her kitchen is with the theme of red, white and blue and some flag knick-knack things here and here. So I went to the craft store and bought clear, red and blue glass beads and also some USA flag beads. Then strung those in fun design and suprised her with it. She was so thrilled. And now there's a little of me she can think of every time she goes in her kitchen.

Here's a craft I did in my office....I collect smileyface! And I wanted more room on my desk to do my crafts buy still wanted room for my computer...but my keyboard was always in the way.
So I got 2 bricks. Wrapped them up with SmileyFace wrapping paper. Then a board about 24 inches long. And covered that with smileyface paper. Then layed the board on top of the bricks (one brick on each side) the put my computer on top of it. And now when I'm done using my computer...I can slide my keyboard underneath my monitor which frees up all that space so I can work on other things plus. There's enough room on the board on either side for my speakers note paper and happy face pencil holder. It's brought a lot of attention to those who have seen it.
It's HOT~HOT~HOT~HOT!!!

Other fun things....
Picture Scrap Books
Candle Making
Flower Bouquets
Stain Glass

I used to have a booth in a Craft Gallery...So the best thing to do is check out a Craft Show....you'll get all kinds of great ideas....
That or just hit your local Craft Store! If your like me....you'll wanna by 1 of everything....

Never a moment of idle paws for this here....

I don't know if it is "hot" or I am just seeing it because my wife is into it, but, it seems that beading is big, and is getting bigger. Bead shops are appearing everywhere (instead of just in the 'hippy' parts of town, like they used to be).

home made candles, because you can do almost anything with them, if candle making is considered a craft.
