I have a Compaq Presario V2000 With Windows Xp I got it last July and I am having problems with it I can`t uninstall X-men legends 2 yet I could before Now I have tried going back intime nothing is working and my ipod shuffle won`t even work on my labtop anymore I have printed HP notebooks stuff on what to do if u cannot remove or uninstall software and the best option is to reinstall windows should I?

If system restore (going back in time) doesn't work, it might be a good time to backup your important files, and do a complete system restore with the restore CDs (complete OS reinstall).
Remember though, this WILL wipe EVERYTHING on the drive!

Estimate how much time you think it will take to uninstall these various applications (manually -- removing them from the file system and removing references in the registry...a dangerous task) or the process of re-installing Windows...you're probably at a wash.

With a clean install, you have the opportunity to install what YOU want on there. Otherwise you can take the time to remove items manually...and that can be just as time consuming, finding the apps that may or may not be the culprits causing you problems.
