From what I heard, if FIFA can 100% confirm the provoker of Zidane's headbutt said anything racist, then Italy will be disqualified of the title, and it will be given to France, because of FIFA rules of racism, or something like that. And plus the refree broke rules in giving Zidane a red card because the linesman looked at the video projection playing, and that is againest FIFA rules too. Personally, I don't care, I wanted Germany in the final, so I'm not bias, I don't even bring my nickname into this. This could be big if it happens.

I don't care if France lost! So what?! Like I said, I wanted Germany but they didn't get, so now I didn't care about the final! And I think did a good job! Both did good!

And all you people saying get over, I am over it! What happened, happened and it's up to FIFA to make a call or not, but Italy still did a good job no matter what.

Is that really possible? Though I'm not a supporter of Italy I think it would be most unfair if that was done.

1. I think that's very unlikely.
2. You have a good point about the call to give Zidane the red card. It took so long for them to do it I don't believe the linesmen actually saw it when it happened. However that's the ref's fault not Italy's
3. I don't care what the Italian player said it's no excuse for head butting someone.
4. There is no reason to say France would have won if Zidane had stayed in the game.
5. The game is over and Italy own everyone should move on.

That wouldn't happen anyway.
The final might be replayed in the event the linesman really looked at the video projection, but FIFA in an official statement said he did not. Some French football clubs, however, not trusting Fifa's statement, filed a lawsuit and want to interrogate the linesman.
If Materazzi is found guilty of having said something racial, he will be fined and suspended for 5 matches.

Nah.. its not agaisnt the rules to say anything to another player while on the field.. that goes for all sports. Now if he would said something racist in public and the act was broadcastable to the world, I still think one players actions would discqualify the whole team. Instead he would get a lifetime ban from the world cup, have any records for him would be stripped and he would not be recognized as being apart of italy's championship team.

that sounds very just for the racist and provacative comments that may have made zidane headbutt matterazzi, then if the FIFA laws state that those are the course of action. Then im all for france recieving the cup-by-default.

It would be unfair for Italy to be stripped.
I personally loved both teams .
But to call the italians cheaters is unfair .
because I remember buffon coming up to zidane looking sympathetic but his team comes first and he had a right to protest.
he and zidane spoke and there were no hard feelings.
both zidane and matzerrazi should be punish .
but really is matzzerazi the first to trash talk ,I am sure not.
I understand zidane's frustration but he made a choice.
He probably did it because he didn't think the referee would find out because they were behind the play.

i rooted for france because of zidane but what you're saying is too farfetched. even assuming materrazi is proven to have uttered racial slurs, he'll be facing individual sanctions for that. only way italy can be stripped of the title is if the comments were proven to be team-sanctioned which, evidence wise, would be too difficult to prove. i came across same info as you but it turned out to be a media view, just some columnist's opinion. i don't think it's a fifa rule.

They can take away Italy's tropheys but its the title of "World cup winners" that will never be taken away from them. The win, and teamwork from Italy was amazing and theres no reason to say they did not deserve it. Zidane has admitted himself that Materazzi said nothing racist to him, and his reason for headbuting was because Materazzi insulted his sister/or mother but he will not say what exactly he said. They did not say anything racist, no reason to be stripped of the World Cup, and no matter what.ITALY are the true world cup winners

Enfin!
Finally, I found an intelligent question!
To me, there should be no cup winner.
Give a chance to FIFA to clean the mess they created or just get rid of the FIFA and let's start something new.

Angry. The French don't deserve the title, they could't get past the Italian defence even after so many repeated attempts! Forza Italia! Besides, I don't think FIFA will do such a thing.
