Play it? I can't even figure it out. I consider myself a bit of a sports junkie, so I'll give anything a try. Most sports you can watch for a while a get a grip on the basics, but I once watched cricket for 2 hours and I was still baffled. Sorry, it's just too confusing for me.

And, unlike the rest of the British colonies, which parted rather amicably with the mother country, we kind of kicked them out at the point of a gun, especially after Cornwallis found himself bottled up at Yorktown. So why would we keep playing cricket (BTW, Canada doesn't play it either)?

the pilgrims hated catholic England. So when they arrived in America they modified Cricket and called it their own original invention - baseball. Instead of a runup and pitching the hard leather ball they chuck it directly.Instead of runs, they have bases.

Frankly, people would die in those outfits. Only people in dank, cold climates can wear those cricket uniforms. Could you see a redneck in a sweater with tobacco juice dripping down his chin swinging a mallet? I think i't be hilarious!!!

Because they don't understand it. Some say cricket is boring, how about American Football....What is it with stopping the game so you can have an ad break.....And let me think.....Throw - catch - stop - ad break - have a think about life - throw - catch - drop - changeover - ad break...Yawn!
