The first one is probably faster than the second.

Everyone mentioned the 2 MB L2 Cache but they didn't mention that Core Solo U1300 has the same amount of L2 Cache and also that Core Solo core is an updated version of the Pentium M chip that also takes improved version of the chipset and also runs at FSB of 533 Mhz where the Pentium M 733 runs at 400 Mhz.

The ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) line runs, as you might suspect, at a very low voltage but U1300 as denoted by "U" is also Ultra Low Voltage running at 5.5 W power range.

And on top of that Core Solo definitely has a better technology and is built on 65 nm process while the Pentium M is built on 90 nm process.

Core Solo also support SSE3 and Pentium M does not.

Besides the Speed alway look at the CAche and Bus, the bigger the number..the better..so with 2mb cache, the second mentioned above will have a better performance.

the higher the GHz the faster the processor, and the more power it uses

it depends on the way you want to use it... if you dont worry about overheating and battery perfomance, you should go for the AMD. but if you need battery perfomance you might go for the first intel, though both might have good battery perfomance.

Well duh the 2nd is faster (by a hair though) but they are both slow, try finding something around the mid 1's like 1.6 or so
