If you like Davis and are looking for other jazz in the same vein, check out John Coltrane. He and Davis did a few albums together, and they're both very much in the "cool jazz" idiom. Safe to say that if you like Solea, you'll like "Blue Train" (my personal favorite jazz song), "Giant Steps," "Naima" (very much the slow, soulful ballad), and many more. One of the things I like about Coltrane is that his music is always very melodic -- where Charlie Parker is just INCREDIBLE to listen to, the Bird sometimes makes me feel like I'm listening to somebody speaking a language I don't understand, his phrasing and structure is so "out there." Brilliant... but for something I can listen to for hours, Coltrane gets the nod for me.
"The Art of John Coltrane" and "The Very Best of John Coltrane" are great starter albums, I've included Amazon links to them below. And I've also added "Miles & Coltrane," which has some great stuff as well.
