First off, spell check, very helpful.
Secondly, media coverage is a two edged sword. Our children and parents need to be educated about the behaviors and predatory natures of such people while at the same time the criminals are given publicity for committing such atrocious acts.
Our society is even divided on the issue itself, just look at Mary Kay who slept with a 13 year old boy. I can not tell you how many times I have heard comments about how lucky that kid was; she gets out, does it again, goes back to jail, gets out and makes money from selling her story and photos of her wedding. If this had been a man (or I throw out there, an ugly woman) the situation would probably have been drastically different. Then you have the teachers like the one in Florida who complains that the media following her around is ruining her life. Good, she deserves nothing less and much more for what she did to that student. His scars will never heal. And I hope there is a special place by the fire waiting for her in the afterlife.

I agree with you that is glorifies the subject, but at the same time, people do need to be aware.
I think that the media is going for a shock type thing here with all the coverage.
They think if they tell every story, then parents will be shocked so they'll monitor their children more.
Problem with that is after time, you just get numb to what you hear which ultimately has the opposite effect.

Maybe too much hysteria, but when you consider how wide spread the problem is, it makes sense to be something everyone should be aware of and informed about. If castration would just be legalized as a solution, the hysteria might level off.

Yes, there is too much hysteria. And the extent to which those who are convicted of crimes related to it are ostrified, even after serving their time, is more than a little disturbing. It's not okay to deny people their rights, not even those who have been convicted of molestation.
Those who claim that such things are necessary to "protect children" typically have absolutely no idea just what sorts of dangers their children actually face in life.

No.Do you for even a moment believe that all incidents are being reported?Do you believe that the perpetrators are capable of being reformed.Do you believe that children should have to look out for themselves and do it silently so as not to "glorify"the subject.

I don't think that we can talk enough about the subject of pedophiles. If you have kids and think of them being their prey you would think twice about your question.
