You will start to lactate 3-4 days after giving birth, If you notice anything now kinda yellow it is called colostrom it is the meal you baby will eat for the first few days. I started to leak colostrom when I was about 3 months pregnant too. Best advise buy some nursing pads and use them now.

Sometime during the third trimester, your breasts may start leaking a thin, yellowish fluid called colostrum. Your body is making sure all systems are go — including your milk production system. Colostrum, the first milk your baby will get, contains more protein but less fat and sugar than mature breast milk, making it easier for baby to digest in the first few days after birth. Plus, it’s full of antibodies that’ll protect your baby as soon as he or she arrives. If you’re not leaking colostrum but curious what it looks like, you can gently squeeze your areola to express a few drops. you wont start lactating until after you give birth....the first 2 or 3 days your baby will get colustrum which is really thick so it doesnt really leak...but when your baby gets all of that then the milk comes in and you'll start lactating. Make sure you always keep breast pads on you when you go out bc just talking about your baby or breast feeding will make you lactate! A week after I had my son i started talking about breastfeeding while at walmart and within a few mins i was soaked.

You may notice some drops of colostrum in your third trimester. Your milk won't come in until after the birth though. The birth of the baby and delivery of the placenta signal to your milk machine to kick into production. The colostrum changes over to milk then, which usually comes in 2-4 days after the birth. For the first few days after birth the milk supply is hormonally driven and then it kicks into supply and demand.
Unless your caregiver tells you that you need to go on "pelvic rest" and not have sex, there is also NO PROBLEM with your hubby playing with or sucking on your breasts during sex. UNLESS YOU ARE TOLD "NO SEX" there is no problem! I have nursed 2 children through their younger siblings pregnancies! Your breasts are NOT off limits to your hubby like someone else said...it won't harm you or the baby.

My advise don't allow your huby to suck here after because it will stimulate milk let down even when you are pregnant of 6 months so for next 3 -4 months you will lactating while ur kid is in woom, it is not good for you & your kid. Actual lactation starts soon after you give birth, even before that if you wait till natural birth the good sign for approaching delivery is swollen breasts and milk coming out in nipples.

Typically, you won't lactate until 48 to 72 hours after giving birth. For all you questions, I recommend getting a pregnancy book.

I didn't get actual milk until a week after my kids were born but I got colostrum at the beginning of my ninth month.

lactating doesnt occur until delivery..when milk is needed.

about two days after you give birth, your breasts will get HUGE, and that's when you'll be producing.

MY BABY WILL BE BORN ON THE 18TH (INDUCTION) AND I AM NOT VISIBLY LACTATING YET... IT'S DIFFERENT FOR EVERY WOMAN. CONGRATS!
