Can someone explain to me (in a nutshell) what is going on over in Isreal?

I follow the news but I dont know the purposes behind the violence, anyone? Please?

There is no nutshell answer to this one.... I tried to come up with a simple explanation.. someting like the Palestinians kidnapped a Jewish soldier, the Jewish want him back.. the thing is escalating.. but I do not think that just cuts it...

There is alot to know. Shortly after Israel was created by UN resolution, the surrounding Arab countries attacked Israel because they didn't want Jews there. Israel won. During the conflict alot of Palestinians either left or were forced out of what is now Israel. Since that time, they have never forgotten their homeland. There are so many Palestinians now though (from breeding like rabits) that Israel wont let them return 50 years later.

Hezbollah is an Islamic terrrorist group located in southern Lebanon, funded and armed by Syria and Iran. They attack Israel consistantly. The Palestinians also attack Israel in the hope they can destroy Israel and reclaim their land.

You've heard of the saying "It's in the blood". Well war is what they have lived with since the beginning, what beginning, their beginning. And they'll never snap out of it. Right now is the scariest time cause some crazy lunatic out their is gonna use a bio-weapon or worse. No one is right in this. They, Israel and Lebanon, have been living in peace for around 5 years, someone had to blow. Idle time was what they were not use to. So old politicians and new soldiers are doing what they do best in the middle east, go to war.

Palestine (funded by Iran and Syria) Have been egging Israel on for many years with little bombs and explosions and such.

Then last week Palestine took a few men from Israel as hostages. Well, this was the "last straw". Israel said "Enough is Enough", and retaliated with full force.

Iran, and all other extremist Muslims, wish to eliminate Israel because they are Jewish. So Iran funds and directs two Muslim terrorist organizations - Hamas and Hezbollah. Hezbollah is based in Lebanon, next to Israel.

So, Hamas and Hezbollah snuck into Israel and kidnapped Israeli soldiers. Israel has responded by attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon. Lebanon and Hezbollah have responded by firing rockets into Israel. It's only going to get worse since neither of them is going to back down.

Israel is mad cause Hamas (the palestine goverment that is a Terrorist group) kidnaped one of its soliders so it used it as a means of attack then Lebanon used Israel's attack as a means of kidnapeing two of its soilders and then Israel retaleated.
