First of all... who calls it a double tipped paper saftety stem cottom swab? J/K, lol, use half peroxide, and half water (never use full strength peroxide) Let it sit in your ear for a few minutes, the roll the corner of a paper towel into a point, and dry them out.

You really aren't supposed to clean the wax out of your ear. The outer edge may be cleaned with a Q-tip, but the inside should be left alone. If there is a lot of build up, then used peroxide. Never stick a swab in your ear hole because it will push the wax back, which can eventually lead to hearing loss.

a few drops of hydrogen peroxide: " Detergent drops such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide may also aid in the removal of wax. Patients should know that rinsing the ear canal with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) results in oxygen bubbling off and water being left behind-wet, warm ear canals make good incubators for growth of bacteria. Flushing the ear canal with rubbing alcohol displaces the water and dries the canal skin. If alcohol causes severe pain, it suggests the presence of an eardrum perforation."
