We had one pet called *Bob* and another *Cat Stevens*

*Cat*
was a moggy whome we never attached a nomenclature to so when registered with the local vet they dubbed him Cat Stevens as he was a cat - and my name is Steve.

*Bob*
My 10 yr old daughter had 3 small fish in a tank. One was red, white and blue; so in reverance of our UK flag she called it *Jack*.

the next was named *Spook* as it was a ghost coy

The last was a pretty non-descript goldfish and thus remained at the time un-named.

Several weeks later my daughter came to me and declared that she had settled on a name for the 3rd fish.
"Oh, and whats that then"
*Bob* she said
"uh, why's that then" I sez
"Come look" she sez

In the tank the previously un-named fishy had expired, *bobbing* in the ripples caused by the oxygenator.

A good way for a child to come to terms with death, or what? LOL

All goldfish are actually called Bob. Go up to a tank and ask them what their name is, and you can see them mouth the name "Bob". try it, its true.

Have a tabby cat called Biz-Biz, named by my daughter, because all cats are called Bizzies, as they are either busying into everything or busy doing nothing.

We had guinea pigs called Marmaduke and Bacchus and a gerbil called Humphrey when we were kids - I have no idea why they were named this though! My first puppy was Kizzy after the character in "Roots" because it means "never leave" or something like that. My cats were Pagan (for obvious reasons) and Murphy (after Peter Murphy from Bauhaus), and Spike (already named). And I've had dogs called Bracken (same colour as dead bracken), Chase (already named, but she did), Blue (already named, but she was), Sabi (after the African flower sabi star, which is beautiful) and Spook (just a puppy and leaps around at all sorts of things I can't see). We also have goldfish called Zorro, Mr Tumnus, Rufus, Pickle and Phillip. Don't ask ... ! Oh, and we have no children so all pets are named by alledgedly mature professionals!

Hi. I have a disabled cat called Hemmingway. Ernest Hemmingway The famous poet/ writer had around 40 cats and had a tower built onto his home to house his beloved pets as his wife had had enough. We got him from a rescue centre where he had been due to the way he looks and his injuries for about a year. He shared his life with about 40 other cats all in the same foster carers house. So Naturally it suited his slightly eccentric ways and lifestyle.

We have another cat called Shadow. Known to the world because of his dependency problems. Again a rescue cat in dire need of a home. He cant stand to be away from you so he really is a literal shadow.

;-) Michelle from England.

We have a yellow and white cat named Cheese, and a hermit crab named Paco. Cheese was named because my 4 yr old knew the cat was the same color as cheese. I'm not sure where Paco came from but my son named it too. It must mean something to him, he laughs every time he says it. Oh, we used to have a dog named Spike, because he looked like the dog on the Rugrats show.

I have a cat named Chanel. I named her that b/c she acts like movie star or something that deserves only the best.... And of course the best designer is Chanel.

I have 3 birds: the 1st one's name is Birdie b/c I couldn't think of a name so Birdie just kinda stuck. The 2nd one is Bebe b/c I love the store. And the 3rd one is Bailey, just because I needed a boy name that would work with all the "B's". Haha

I named my betta fish Pink Floyd because he's just a lost soul swimming in a fish bowl.
I named my really mean dog Trixie after the character of the same name on Problem Child 2 that is especially mean.

Well, I wanted some names that you *never* hear for my three Buenos Aires tetras, and so I named them Napoleon, Hitler, and Stalin.

And I have a *dead* moth (don't ask why I kept it XP) named Fluffy.

And I have Marvin and Pidilig the cockatiels.

And I have little miss Charlie Noballs, my cat. Dad wanted to name her Charlie, and my aunt asked my other aunt (who's allergic to cats) if it had any balls, and my second aunt said, "Nope, no balls!" And so, her name is Charlie Noballs.

And I *had* some angelfish that I had named Phantom, Raoul, and Christine, based off of Phantom of the Opera characters. ^_^

Those are about all the crazy pet names I remember.

lol - welcome to my zoo:

(1) 1 cat named Bookie. Not 'bookie' as in a gambling thing, but boo-key. i don't know why - my friend Michelle had already named her. Michelle found out she was pregnant and had to give the kitten up (didn't want to risk toxoplasmosis);

(2) 2 dogs... one named Sandy (again, already named when my husband got her -- golden retriever, so not a lot of imagination there), and one named Cappi -- short for Cappuccino, as she's a pale golden/white Husky.

(3) 2 fish.... Bubba and Blue. Blue is kinda blueish in color, and has been with us quite a while.... well, at least since all our HUGE fish died when we introduced (unknowingly) a sick fish into the mix. Bubba's real name isn't Bubba... but he kinda bounces off the plastic plant and twirls and swirls in the filter stream (he almost died at one point, and I think he's somewhat brain damaged - or nerve damaged - now), and acts kinda doofey, so I call him Bubba.

(4) 2 frogs...as yet unnamed. Honestly, I don't think we expected them to last this long. And lucky me... one's male and one's female and even tho they're not SUPPOSED to reproduce... THEY DO!!

(5) 2 bearded dragons... Norbie and Fluffy. We got Norbie first...he's big, aggressive, and hates sunlight. Fluffy is smaller, quicker, and loves to be outdoors. We got their names from Harry Potter, but they really do fit -- and they respond to their names, too!

we've had turtles, birds, ferrets, and various other pets - including a prairie dog once - and we always come up with 'unique' names for them. now my kids get in on it too - and we find names that fit, lol.

When fishing with my 9 year old daughter we caught a 1" Minnow
which I was going to use as bait (we had no live bait) but my daughter decided that we should take it home and that "Bob" could live with "sucker" our catfish in the aquarium. When I ask her why she name the fish "Bob" she replied that it look like a Bob.
