Two great players. It is really hard to compare these two as they play different roles. But whenever Del Piero was subbed on my thought was well look out he is still dangerous ang he through experience can still break a game by setting up play or the goal or in fact scoring the goal. Cannavaro is an awesome defender but Alessandro left me many great memories from WC 2002 and that has stuck in my mind. He has always been one of my favourites. But I guess careers cant last forever and these two have had great ones. Been a pleasure to watch them.

You can't compare them. They play two different roles. Cannavaro is a defender. Del Piero is a midfielder/striker. Both of them are good at what they do. Cannavaro's performance at the World Cup was truly amazing. Del Piero didn't play much, but he scored a beautiful goal against Germany. Del Piero, however, used to play better than he does now.

del piero is in my opinion a much more dangerous player than cannavaro

cannavaro. hes a better leader and can make saves before the attacker knew what he was gonna do.
