How can me and my girlfriend survive a 1000 mile seperation for the next obe year?

i am moving to a city in south india for a year leaving my GF of over 2yrs back in hyderabad

it can be done. the first step is to be optimistic. when you have a long distance relationship, many people will tell you how hard to maintain they are and how likely it is to fail.

duh! just write that off immediately, i think that's WHY most of them fail is because no one will offer much support ;)

the second step is to realize how lucky you are that you live in the modern age and can communicate a lot. it is also much easier to travel, although i don't know your personal considerations. you obviously have internet access... use it! one nice thing about a long distance sweetheart, is that you can tell them everything about your life. it is wonderful therapy to have someone to be your port in a storm, and if they are in another community, you do not have to worry about gossiping about the people you see every day who drive you nuts!

when you find love, sometimes you must work for it. it is not impossible, but it will be hard. absence makes the heart grow fonder or forgetful... it is your choice.

Maybe if you write and call her alot and send her lots of presents. and send her tickets to come visit you so she has things to look forward to and doesn't think you are having fun without her.
