I think there is a need for both individualism and consensus. Individualism can inspire creativity and bring to light issues of dissension thus allowing for multiple perspectives.
One person may have a certain chance of survival but it has been shown to me that consensus of a group more often brings survival to the whole group than the probabilities of survival of the independent persons added together. The group cannot achieve the best consensus without the thoughts of each individual in the group. From the grandest to the smallest, the best to the worst, all the ideas are needed, so long as all the individuals are honestly trying to work toward the same goals.
Individualism may bring to light the necessity of changing a goal, eliminating a goal, adding a goal, or even splitting a goal into more than one goal.

yes, i believe it is good. Please keep in mind though, we're still just ants. We all should work to get the job done.. and individualism inspires us to do it..

I think it helps us to find our purpose........if we all just followed one another we' d be similar to a bunch of lemmings......the blind leading the blind.
