My pond is stagnant but very healthy, with plants, tadpoles and frogs. I have just put 3 goldfish and 4 Orfes into the pond, however after a few hours, they don't seem to surface. I havent seen them since. The pond water has alot of algae in it though and a bit murky. What do i do? help please.

Do you have a pump to oxygenate the water?

That's a no brainer. Get the algae out of there. A healthy pond won't have algae nor be stagnant, ok? I don't know what an Orfes is, but goldfish need to be able to get to the top and breathe and if you have algae, especially, that poor thing can't get through it.

I'm not a pond person (yet) but have read so much on this subject and I know you have to have circulation in that pond to promote a healthy environment for whatever animals/amphibians you have in there.

If you want to keep and see your fish you will have to get a pump, filter and ultra violet light filter they do some good combination sets these days you will have to clean them out almost daily to start with but this will soon go down to about once or twice a month

you will have to work out the volume of water in the pond to do this measure width X lenght X depth x 6.25 this will give you the gallonage of your pond then get a pump and filter that can filter this every 2 hrs

the uv light will cause the alge to clump together and be filtered out by the filter hence the regular cleaning

They're probably at the bottom where you can't see them. You might want to get a clarifier so you can enjoy watching them and keep the algae down. Too much algae will kill them by taking up all the oxygen in the water.

Unless they are now floating on the surface they'll still be alive, but suggest you get a pump to get some oxygen into the water

Clean it out. Maybe they are where you can't see them. Or the forgs ate them. they are meat eaters you know! ( I suggest you clean the tank out firrst. If you still don't see them, it has to be the frogs. If orfes are big, they could have eaten them too. I've never really heard of those fish before!

try to shine a light in it. it's not the greatest thing but it may work. and i've never heard of orfes, but i don't think they're man eaters. so reach your arm in and feed your fish... also try to filter your water a bit so it won't be so murky.

They will surface when they have settled in.The algae is a pain but I think you'll have to keep getting it out or buy something to treat the water.
