I HOPE IT DOES! YAAAAYYYYYYYY GO UP UP UP! This could be the best friggin ' thing that happened to America in decades. Everyone would have to get rid of their big, fat , gas guzzling pieces of conspicous consumption-mobiles, conserve instead of sucking up every drop of oil we can, and actually stop being the most high- consuming society in all of time. Alternative energy sources wouls surge forward. The Ozone layer would possibly be saved, global warming would turn back, and the US would be seen by the world as the glowing example of ecologically smart conservation.
And the BEST part of all, with a massive effort naturally emanating from our pocketbooks, we would cease our dependence on foreign oil, and no longer need to be involved in the never ending Israeli-Arab conflict. We could reduce our military exports to all of these countries and just say NO to the rediculous geo-politics of oil.

firstly oil expenditures are set with the help of the global marketplace, not Bush or our congress, for this reason there is little they can do except permitting extra drilling (increasing furnish), and reducing the gasoline taxes (lowering the cost). Venezuela has a low value because they did not have a bunch of liberal tree huggers preventing companies from construction refineries, as we do the following, and because they have a large furnish of oil, partly because no individual stops their agencies from drilling, as our agencies are stopped with the help of liberals the following. we do not have adequate means, and it really is one hundred% the fault of liberals. This consists of the consistent efforts to ward off new drilling, so we are extra depending. So blaming Bush or Republicans is in order that stupid it really is sickening. those are the very those who DO help extra drilling and refineries, and reducing taxes. Why blame them? because the liberal media brainwashes the weak minded into doing their bidding, that's why. imagine people. imagine. "Evil" gasoline agencies make an same income MARGINS as the different substantial marketplace, proper in line in actuality. the most suitable quantity is only a percentage of a mess of money, and the large funding they ought to make to stay in business enterprise. Take a business enterprise direction your time liberals! we are able to all proceed to pay what we ought to, as we haven't any decision. gasoline isn't $2 a gallon back as a thanks to ought to regulate. Hydrogen / electric powered autos are likely the destiny. The marketplace will stress the alterations all on that's own even as the cost is extreme adequate. We ought to all regulate. I purely bought a 12 mpg mustang and purchased a corolla that i'm getting 40 mpg on the line, 32 mpg effortless. very just about 3 situations the gasoline mileage, although not as "cool". i'll take the money, thanks. per chance it really is time to lose the SUV and forestall operating for gasoline? Nah, shall we purely hit upon a scapegoat and communicate about conspiracy theories....

No. I already have a short commute to work and I don't drive much more than that. I also have a motorcycle, which is good on gas, so that won't change anything.

If things got really bad, my husband and I could start car pooling, but I'd either have to change my hours to his, or I'd be getting in early, and he'd have an hour to kill every evening.

Bussing is out of the question since our neighborhood is crappy.

I'll just suck it up!

I only use my car to go to college. The biggest problem is that the cities in the US are poorly designed around cars, not designed so cars are a last resort. The gasoline engine has been obsolete for 50 years. I'm amazed at our technology. We have cellphones the size of a pack of gum, and the cars are sill a lot bigger than they need to be? I don't feel that cars are designed for efficiency by any means. Maybe we need a big shock like this to shake us from complacency.

No, b/c I cycle a lot and walk my dog for short errands. When I do drive, I use the most gas efficient car I own. I maybe fill the tank once every 2 or 3 weeks max. :) When I save up, I'd like to own a hybrid car.

Yes dramatically. We live out in the country so we must plan more than ever all trips to store or anywhere we need to go. We have to drive being in the country and need the gas for commuting and even gas for our acreage lawns we need to cut. We just cut back on trips to places and not doing as many things and not cutting the lawn as often as it is affecting our wallet. It will get worse before it gets better I am sure and I know it hurts each one of us finacially in some way.

I have a huffy on layaway at Walmart. Seriously I dont know why America allowed this to happen we could have nipped this in the butt several years ago i dont know how they let these countires have us by the balls like this. Its kinda like they are running the country. for one, if we can't afford the gas how can we get to work or even spend money in the economy. The gas prices may affect the economy in the long run they are giving cars away now.

I think I'll go out and buy some oil stock right now before the extra spike in prices. Then I'll go buy a horse and buggy and get along just fine..........
