Can a demon or ghost physically possess a person?

I'm not sure if I believe in any of this stuff, but sometimes I think horribly sadistic things or think very nasty words in my mind. I know I'm not a bad person because I'd never actually do or say any of those things. I don't think I'm mentally disturbed either because it isn't all of the time and I don't have any will to actually do any of those terrible things.

I used to be a more mellow and laid back person now I just feel angry and dejected all the time and there is nothing in my life that would be a reason for that. I know it isn't depression because there is just no reason for it and it isn't regularly occuring. It isn't even like a voice in my head or anything, it just sort of comes out of nowhere.

I don't even know that I believe in God or anything paranormal. Hell I barely believe in humanity. Even right now I feel compelled to do something violent. Is this some sort of depression or psychosis or demonic possession or am I just a bad person?

I think that if a person believes that they can be possessed then they can. I also believe that for some the act of being possesed acting "wild" or "crazy" is some what cathartic. In our day and age we don't have alot of cathartic happenings. The Greeks had festivals of Bacchas, as an example, where people got really wild and crazy. Some say that the "Bacchants" ( the group of women who followed the religion of Bacchus closely) were wild and "possessed". Maybe you just need a stress reliever and cut loose a bit. Maybe for you a catharic experience would be to "be possessed". Maybe you are depressed and need some medical help. You are not a bad person, you might just need some one to talk to. Try talking to a friend or a Doctor if you are scared about hurting someone. Whatever you do I hope you know that you are valuable person to people in this world, and there are those who love you. Everyone has someone that loves them, even if they themselves can't see it. Take care of yourself.

No. There's no such thing as a demon - that's an old husband's tale. And you can't be possessed by a dead person, either, but if you're sensitive and cooperative, you could pick up "messages" or emotions or feelings from a discarnate person.

What you describe is much more common than you suspect, and yes, I'd say it is a form of depression. Depression can be expressed in anger, as well as indifference or sadness.

My advice would be to counteract the dark impulses however you can - a method that works for me is to conjure up an image in my mind of something so absurd or laughable that the sombre thought is nuked in its tracks. Imagine Barney the purple dinosaur singing a song to you - or Bugs Bunny popping in and asking 'What's up, Doc?' Whatever works for you. Just find a way to lighten the intensity and shrug it off, with a smile if possible.

Check your diet, get plenty of rest and get as much laughter into your life as possible. It's amazing what a good diet, sleep and exercise can do - exercise is *great* at banishing depression.

Demons exist, you cant doubt that, but being possessed is bullcrap, but if you still fell bad and stuff you should either start trying as hard as you can to be good, or go see an exorcist, i dont believe in possession but you never know who will be right you know. Seriously, you probably are a bad person, but im not holding that against you as long as you dont take it out on me. Another thing Id like to say to help you out is think about the music and tv you watch, it has a SERIOUS effect on your attitude.

It can happen and if it does God is the only way to rid yourself of this unpleasurable experience. I was raised as a Southern Baptist but started to study Wicca as I got older because I have a keen since when it comes to the paranormal. Yes, I've heard dedicated ministers, such as Lester Sumrall, tell of the time a group in the Philippine's called him. First of all, we all have negative feelings sometimes - don't let those scare you. But if you think they are taking over your life, it would be good to check it out with a professional. You are probably stressed out more than you realize you are. Check with a doctor or therapist just so you can figure out what is making you mad, because you might get so stressed you fly off the handle and hurt someone. You might have experienced something traumatic when you were younger and just repressed it. Fix it before you do something wrong with your life that cannot be taken back.
