Is There A Better Way To Shrink Clothing Besides Putting It In The Dryer?

I have a few shirts that are a little too big but sending them through the dryer does not shrink them enough. Is there any better way?

Wash them in HOT water and then put them in a HOT dryer...

I have washed them in hot water that might help.
