If you have sex with a guy when you have a yeast infection, or any infection down there, you can transmit it to your guy. It doesn't affect him as much, but once you have sex with him after everything's cleared up he'll give it back to you!
It might not be a yeast infection. Especially if the smell is "fishy", it might be bacterial vaginosis, or even a UTI, so go see your doctor before you try to treat yourself!

Vaginal itching that is often severe, discharge that is usually white, curdlike, and odorless. Red, irritated skin around the opening to the vagina (labia). Pain while urinating when urine touches irritated skin. Pain in the vagina during sexual intercourse. Its most likely to occur the week after your period and yes you can pass a yeast infection on to your partner. If this is your first infection its best to see your Dr. If this is not the first then an over the counter treatment like Monistat would work just fine.
However, if your urine has the odor and burns when you urinate then it could be a UTI. Cranberry juice remains acidic after digestion and will help restore the pH of the bladder killing any kind of bacteria.
If you try an over the counter remedy and it DOESN'T work then see your Dr immediately. Infections can cause scarring and infertility.

If it's a strong smell when you pee, and it burns and itches a little, that's not always a yeast infection. Sometimes you need to drink more water, or it could be a lot of acid in the foods you eat.

So I found an excellent web site for you. (lol. I was too lazy to write out the whole description for you.) Don't worry women get these all the times and you can get them from all sorts of things. Click the link below to get a better understanding.
Symptoms: http://www.msu.edu/user/eisthen/yeast/symptom.html
Causes: http://www.msu.edu/user/eisthen/yeast/causes.html
As far as treatments.. Go to your local store and buy some Monistat. You just apply the cream as the directions say and it eventually goes away.

Go to your gynecologist and ask them about it.
It could just be yeast infection, yes.
Then you can just go and by some medication.
If not, you're doctor can tell you more.
Stay away from sexual activity till you know for sure.
