I have been using an ovulation test and had sex within 12 hours after an positive result. If pregnancy tests (sensitive ones) are supposely accurate after a week post ovulation, and Im not pregnant is there a problem or could i likely be still pregnant and tested too early?

wait until you miss your period if you do....then take a test...the test respond because of hcg levels in your blood and urine.... i dont think anyone would have enough pregnancy hormone in there urine after 1 week post ovulation....i took a pregnancy test 1 day after i missed my period and it was neg...5 days later still no period so i took another test and it was positive...i am now 4 months pregnant....good luck

You tested too early. The hormones generated when you are pregnant take time to build up in your system. That is why most women who test one week with results of negative, can test again in another week and it be positive. You need to allow for the hormones to build otherwise the trace amounts won't be detected by the pregnancy tests. I know you are probably really eager to find out, but relax. Just wait until1-2 days after your period is due and then test if you haven't started. Best time to test too, is the first thing in the morning. I know it is difficult as your are probably very hopeful and excited to get pregnant, but seriously, wait until you are overdue for your period.

Good Luck.

Getting pregnant is not as easy as it seems it should be. There is actually a very small percentage that you will get pregnant even if you have intercourse while ovulating. If you take another pregnancy test in 2-3 days and it's still not positive go to your doctor if you really feel could be pregnant. Otherwise, just try again next month.

My understanding is that the early detection kits can be used for a certain number of days before your period is due, rather than based on your ovulation. You need to build up enough pregnancy hormones to be detected by the test and that takes a little while. Try to wait until a few days before your period is due because every day that you wait, the probability that the test will detect a pregnancy increases. I know that the wait can be maddening!

Good luck to you! One of the happiest moments of my life was seeing that very faint extra line appear on my pregnancy test!

I have discovered the harder you try the longer it takes. Stress can cause you to fail in conception. Not to mention those tests can get expensive after awhile. If you start your period ,start from day 2 of your period and count 14 days. The 13, 14, and 15 days after you period are your most fertile time, so go for it then. I worked with a woman who was using those ovulation tests and temperature and all that other crap with no luck. I told her my method and guess what?? She missed her next period. Or just have a healthy sex life and it will happen when its time.

Most tests are a week before your next period should start, it's not really one week after ovulation. I would wait one more week and tests then. I tested too early and had to wait too. I now have a beautiful 18-month-old daughter. Good luck!

That may be too early to test. Doctors always say wait 14 days, 2 weeks after coception. Other wise you may have false results. Be patient.

The most accurate results come right around the time you expect your period to start.
