Why do women in Europe wear more stockings than women in the U.S.?

We are more informal. But it depends on where you are in the US and what time of year it is. I don't know anyone who would wear stockings in the summer except for a flight attendant or another uniformed job because it's required.

Because Europe has better fashion sense in US where we follow the movie stars every move. California is a culture unto itself, and in no way should be indicative of how a whole Nation dresses, but it somehow does.

England, France, and mow Middle Europe are producing very high quality hosiery, which is sole all throughout Europe. In the US you have to go online to get anything that is not made in Taiwan. the hosiery here is so bad, women don't even want to wear it. I wear stockings everyday to work, and they are all made in Europe. Only my garterbelts are made in the US.

Because they are more educated in fashion than in the US . We follow the trends of the most gauche place in the world, Hollywood Tinseltown. They follow the fashion trends of the world's fashion leaders, Paris, Milan and New York.

Also they have much more sophisticated stockings, hold ups and pantyhose than we do. Just look at a huge worldwide hosiery website like stockingstore.com, and you will see that all the better hosiery is from Europe, the rest is from Taiwan, and only about two brands are from the USA. the hosiery industry is dead here, so Hollywood is pushing cosmetics for the legs, but they are not nearly as sophisticated as a beautiful pair of nylons.

Probably because they have better fashion sense. The bare leg craze here is really obnoxious when it is carried out to the extent that it is. A woman just does not look fully dressed in business or dress clothing with bare legs, just like no man in a suit and tie would look properly dressed with bare feet and Oxfords.

In Europe they have a better selection of hosiery available too. I wear stockings and a garter belt everyday to work because I despise pantyhose, but all of my stockings are European brands. And If God forbid , I do have to wear pantyhose with a certain outfit, it's the Europeans that make them super thin in summer weights, and totally sheer to waist.

i am from europa and i can tell is lot colder here. me personaly dont wear stockings, but i know lot woman who where and some girls wear because is cold some because thay feel more sexy in them, but they are woman from bosnia they wear because they have lot of hear on legs , thay dont shave and i tell you is better they wear stocks, then to look that.
the weater is deferente here in europa. lot of woman think that is so sexy if you wear stocks and the man will just jump all over them.

I usually wear stockings in the winter, esp. with business or formal attire.

because European Style is different from the u.s. But that goes for any Country. Stlye is different everywhere you go. this is a wild guess but maybe it has to do with the weather?

Because European women don't shave and they need to cover up the hair! Bare is better! Yay USA!
