Careful, not all men have this problem. When you stereotype that harshly, you're doing the same thing he did. He figures that since you're a girl, you can't be as good as him, even if the evidence shows otherwise.
Every time I think that men are making headway, building a stronger show of equality, something like this is brought to my attention and I cringe. there's a lot of bad history that supports this guy's theory, but even though history shows that guys have been more successful, it's not because they're better, it's because they've dominated the market for too long.
You can actually claim sexual discrimination for what he's doing. If you can document what's been done, you can nail him pretty hard.
I'm sorry that some of us are chauvinist jerks, but please don't say we all have ego problems.

You answered your own question. He's insecure about a girl being able to do (or out-do, as the case may be) what he does, and his ego is running the show. It's really bad when people, either gender, reach a "boss" level and still haven't learned how to handle the situations appropriately. I've got several in my office (Out of about 40 people currently, I'm one of two women) and it's WAY OLD!

He's just a little, little man. Just view him that way, and maybe YOU will at least feel a bit better. Best of luck. It's maddening.

no, he's just a chauvinistic male. Don't let this discourage you, if anything this is actually his way of showing his jealousy and he acknowledges that your better. Instead of getting upset, remain upbeat and nice around him. He'll come around, and if he's making mistakes and messes up, perform the same task he did, but don't do so to show-off. He's a man, and chances are that him seeing you being better at what he does hurts him. If anything, help him out, and if he gets to a point where his jeers and sneers are hurtful report him to your superior. Men will be men, just be respectful and do what you do best.

YES HE IS CRAZY AND HE IS A CRAZY MAN. LOL Hey you know you can do this type of work and so does he, JUST LET HIM DO THE WORK, I PROMISE YOU WHEN HE SEES IT IS NOT AFFECTING YOU THEN HE WILL STOP BEING THIS WAY. And look at it this way maybe just maybe he doesn't want you to get hurt he rather be the one to get injured or something. NOT THAT YOU WILL BUT DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF, Just play along and watch what takes place. If it's not affecting your MONEY, Then do not worry about it, He Is A Man and that explains EVERYTHING. LOL LOL

Maybe you ought to have a talk with him. Don't lump all men in the same category. There are many women like that too.

He's jealous, that's all. Either go above hiom and complain about harrassment or find another job - as forewoman!

He wants to go back to pre-historic times when women were territory and men were hunters, and even more stupid than we are now.

Seriously, if it's discrimination report him. That is beyond wrong and wrong to make your workplace an uncomfortable place to be for you.
