How do you know that witchcraft is the 'devil's work'? My guess is that your pastor/minister told you that. If that is the case- why are you interested in it? What about witch craft is attractive to you?
At your age, it could be easy to get sucked into something that could be destructive, or harmful to you- or your relationships with your family.
Someone else mentioned that there is a difference between studying and practicing- if all you are doing is learning about a different religion (Witch craft, Hidu, Pagan, Mormon...) there's no harm that. I think God wants us to know about the beliefs of others- it makes you a more tolerant and understanding person.
However, you may want to keep your involvement to a minimum until you know more about witch craft- or whatever you become interested in next. Good luck, sweetie!

Everyone who says that you will go to hell is wrong. If god loves you eternally than why would he send you to hell? Wicca is a religon and all of these people who said that it isn't are wrong. They have done no research, they have only taken other people's word for it. Spell casting is another type of prayer. Wicca's do not believe in a devil, christians actually took the figure from Wicca's. The horned hunter became the devil and the wise crone's pointed hat became an evil witches hat. Did you know that the cloth has employed mages? They were called clerical mages. Do any of these people who who say that spell casting is the devil's art even know what the devil is? Satan? Now he is but in the fourteenth century his name was old nick. Saint nick, the figure we now know as santa claus. In the fourteenth century he was a beastman that was depicted with the horns and legs of a goat. He would go door to door demanding gifts for him and his servants. Before that the fallen angel Azaziel took the place of the devil for a time. He taught women how to beatify the face and taught men how to make swords, knives, breastplates, helmets, and other armor. He however, did not fall until he and his followers took human women as wives. Before that he descended from heaven.
These other people who think that wicca is of the devil bathe in ignorance and partake of religous zealotsy.
Oh, and by the way I am christian. I have done the research and have formed my own opinions.

Wicca is not the devil's work or else I certainly wouldn't be a witch. We love nature and respect human life. We may be pagan but some of us venerate The Virgin and The Magdalene. Afterall, they were wonderous women. Being a witch doesn't mean we don't belive in Jesus. I personally think he was a very special man and a great healer, I just don't wish to follow Christianity, the man made religion that uses him as an Icon and kill and main in his name. Keep your faith and delve into nature also. Please make sure you get good books and advice with your craft and remember. Give out only good and harm none.
Blesses be.

This is where I wish video games had some say in it. witch-craft is of the devil, and God dosnt smile upon it , you most likely wont go to hell though, IF ONLY witchcraft {im gonna call it magic from now on} were like final fantasy where theres white magic and black magic, white being the magic of healing and happiness. But no, thats not how things are...
My suggestion is to stay from magic altogether, magic and God dont go well with each other, in the onden days withches were said to fornicate with {get laid by} satan. That tells you something.
Instead I would get into the sciences. Those have so much in common with magic its not even funnny. Im sure tha one day there will be a formula that will allow people to grow wings, or we will discover how to do the impossible on our own, we dont need satan going around and screwing up lives to get it, we just need hard working scientists and chemists to create machines or formulas that allow us to do as we wish, its almost the same as magic without the eternal damnation.

I grew up christian, but for a period in my life, I was a practicing witch, but I tried to always do it for God, which my mentor said was an option for me. I don't practice anymore, mostly because I don't see a need, but God and I are still on very good terms. If you do it, make sure you don't lose focus of Him being who He is. I, admittedly, didn't always keep my focus on Him, and I think He was a bit mad at me until I cam around.
Most everyone who has answered already is right. Witchcraft is not something that is to be taken light-heartedly, and it lacks the glamor that Hollywood has given it. It's actually a lot of hard work and requires a good amount of discipline. There are a very strict set of rules that you need to obey, or the balance of nature (and God) will throw everything back your way, and believe me, it's not always a good thing.
All in all, the choice is up to you. If you decide o go with it, good luck. Just don't loose sight of what truly matters to you.

No. God does not tolerate the practice of magic. This is stated several times in the Old Testament, for instance when he tells the Hebrews that the Egyptian sorcerers are an abomination. However, God is an intolerant bigot, and he probably doesn't love you anyway. You don't have to worry about losing his affections if you practice Wiccan witchcraft because you probably never had it in the first place. This has no bearing on the kind of person you are, God's just a dick.

witchcraft is a whole other religon....And It's not the Devils work, first of why would the devil care about humans and love nature, wicca and pagan does, nor do we feel that we can control the free will of others. nor do we belive in the Devil, WE beliave in Gods and Goddesses, nature and so on, Plus what about other religons in the world that do not belive in the same god that you are replying about. theres the budda he is the god of buddist people who practice that religon. In paganism and witch, we don't have to pray for our sins, because we are human , and humans make mistakes, and we are alway accepted into our heaven (summerland)... I think either you are watching to many movies that give this religon a wrong impression... which they do... your best bet is to look on the internet or your local book store to find out if this religon is for you. If you have any questions just e-mail me...I'll help if I can

You got a lot of responses on this one!
First, if you are as you say "A believer in God" and his ways, then what is it about The Craft that has your interest?
You already know your talking apples and oranges as far as religions go, so what is it about knowing witchcraft that would be worth giving up on God.....if that is what you want....
There is a way to have both but you really need to walk the path of life a little longer for that knowledge. Have faith and trust in God as you know him to be for now. In time you will find the answer your looking for.

It all depends on what kind you are doing, I am a catholic myself and experiment with other religions. I have talked to a monk about it, if you use it for good it should be ok. Buddhism for example is a half religion, in it you dont worship a God so it is okay. Also I find the principles are very helpful and christian. Christians borrowed almost everything they have from other religions, the cross is from the egytian ankh ( a symbol for life) and our original sabbath day was saturday but we decided to use the Jews Sabbath of Sunday. So I think it is okay to experiment because thats all the modern makers of christianty pretty much did. Being Christian is very good, and maybe a little bit of another religion wont do much harm if the intent is good. Also to all the people saying you are gonna to hell are WRONG, worry not.

First, you need to spell better.
Accept is not the same as except. But I know what you mean.
Answer.
God never stops loving you.
God says to resist the devil. But he doesn't stop loving you. No, this is unacceptable.
God says there is a devil and evil lurks in devil worship because you may not be strong enough in your faith to resist evil. That's why you should avoid it.
You would be doing this all against him. What you really risk is falling too far away and becoming prey to evil. You would eventually be swallowed up in it and it is a destructive force and not a good one.
So, the smart thing to do is to say to yourself, "there is evil in the world" (there is).
"I need to be stronger than the power that lures me and my curiosity"
"I have learned something from this temptation""it will destroy my life in some way or other"
Yes, God will always take you back. he says so.
Doesn't mean you will be able to find him so easily as you may wish, and when you call on him.....I hopes he hears you.
