It would be disastrous not only for us, but for the entire world. Think about it. Millions of people would die in a city like New York, and buildings would be completley destroyed. The stock market would crash, and no one would be able to get a job. The entire world would feel the pain of the Americans, and the invading country would be wiped off of the surface of the earth forever. That is why I predict that there will never again be another war fought on American soil-America has way too much to offer for this idea to be considered.

We have never fought a war in the United States from a foreign country with the exception of The American Revolution (England) and The War of 1812 (also England). The Civil War was between ourselves and any other time we have been involved with a war it has been outside our country. We have had terrorist do things to us on American soil, but never an all out invasion. And just so you know, Hawaii and Pear Harbor in 1941 was not part of the United States yet. It was 1959 before that territory was annexed.

Nothing since the Mexican American war. In Texas remember the Alamo. And I think an enemy would have a very hard time here as so many Americans own guns and can actually hit what they aim for. Americans really pretty much invented gorilla warfare in the Revolutionary war. Plus many Americas would join in the army if war came to our shores. But being as we are surrounded by two oceans east and west and Canada to the north and Mexico to the south it becomes a bit difficult to invade without being noticed first. Probably the only place we would really face an invasion threat is Alaska or from Mexico itself.

Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were both air attacks. Excluding the Civil war, the last time a Forgein enemy army was on US soil was the war of 1812.

The last time foreign troops were on US soil was WW2, when Japan invaded some Alaskan islands.
Before that, you have to go back to The War of 1812, when the British burned down the White House, then lost the Battle of New Orleans.
If you're talking about other kinds of enemies, they're called 'illegal immigrants', not 'invading soldiers'. But half the country wants to help them, not kick them out.
If you're talking about another country's army, they have to get here first. Either from Canada, Mexico, or by sea. And they're not getting past the US Navy.

To the best of my knowledge there have been no wars fought on American soil since the civil war in the 1860s. Although many would say that 911 was the opening salvo of a new war. A war fought on American soil would be like any other war, people would die.

Not two armies facing each other, but you could consider 9/11 as an act of war: the war of extremist factions of the Islamic nations against the repression from US, and the support of US to Israel.
About how it would be... well, we all saw it in the news: Total chaos. Amazing as it might sound, people in the middle east are used to war among their streets, and they even know how to react, but people in the US hasn't seen war up close (in their own land) for a couple hundred years, so it would be Chaos.

Yes, Currently we are fighting a major land war on drugs. The enemies are countries like Columbia, Mexico etc. It is estimated that our forces...DEA, Local Police, Fbi have suffered major losses to personnel, not to mention our civilian population which has suffered about 5000 deaths per year due to drug related incidents.
Did i mention that we also are fighting a war on crime?? Local Gangs have enough weapons to take over a small city well even a big city...People die daily due to this war!
Last of all we are being invaded daily by foreigners who are slowly taking over this country (War on Illegal Immigration)
Our country is the most violent of any on Earth do research and you will see how many people have died in this country due to the above mentioned wars
Probably does not answer you direct question but we seem to forget the meaning of war.
