If it's new, its likely to be 'eco-friendly' and use much less water than your old one. Basically, if it's getting your clothes clean, it's working fine :-)

Is the tap feeding the machine fully open, it may have been knocked closed.

If it's new, call the people you bought it from and have them come out and fix it or give you a new one.

do you have it on miser?
small load?
do you leave the lid up while it fills?[got to close it]
