You're absolutely right. These misguided people have paid a fortune to a backyard breeder or a pet shop and have ended up with a mutt with a fancy name. So they feel obliged to justify the expense by insisting that they have something valuable instead of a common crossbreed. I could call my two dogs a "stachshund" (staffy/dachshund mix) and a "colliador" (border collie/lab) but why bother - they would still be beautiful RSPCA rescue mutts! I paid $120 each for them, including desexing in one case, all shots and worming - and the money went to a worthwhile charity, not a backyard breeder. If anyone is reading this who is tempted to buy a cat or dog from a pet shop - please, please don't do it. Visit your local shelter and save a life!

What is wrong with Patrisha? It's got pizzaz and sounds exclusive.
