"BEST" is always a matter of opinion, and it will depend highlyy on what you want to do with the system as a whole.
You will always get several answes, and in the end, you will still have a choice to make.
It's best to simply research which cards are best for yuor applications, and decide based on that.

I would wait until good drivers are released for running two Nvidia 7950GX2. That way you will be running quad cards. Unfortunately they are $600.00 a Peice. Or just get one of the cards, and you will still be running SLI, but it will just use one of your PCIE slots. It is faster then running dual cards because both of the cards are in the same slot. THen you can save up if necessary, and get the other one to match it and you'll be running quad cards. I personally can't wait to get my hands on this card. Best of luck regardless of what choice you make!

Well SLI mode is Nvidia, so I am assuming have a NF4 chipset. Dual GF 7900 gtx's sounds about right.
