If you are *****EXCLUSIVELY breastfeeding on demand (no supplements, no solids, etc.) and baby isn't sleeping through the night***** then the odds are pretty slim that you could be PG again w/in only 4 weeks. Exclusive breastfeeding is considered as good as condoms for birth control for the first 6 months as long as baby is exclusively breastfed on demand, mom's period hasn't returned and baby doesn't go long periods w/o nursing.

Yes, it is. Breastfeeding is not a method of birthcontrol. I have to give you credit for actually wanting to have sex again after only four weeks. If you have a vaginal delivery you should have waited about 6 weeks to let everything heal. An after a C-section I can't imagine that the incision was too comfortable either.
But I digres, you do have a chance of getting pregnant, but cycles do take time to get regulated again after birth.

Breastfeeding can stop you from ovulating but that should never be used as a form of birth control. I breastfed my daughter for 7 months but starting having my period after 3 which meant I was ovulating. You are actually very fertile in the months after childbirth so it is best to use some sort of birth control if you don't want to conceive again soon.

Of course. It doesn't matter if you're breastfeeding or after you have a baby. Your body still works like normal. You can get pregnant. In fact, your chances of getting pregnant after having a baby are even greater than normal, b/c your very fertile after having a baby. My cousin has two baby girls, and they are only 10 months apart!!! She got pregnant three weeks after having her baby!

Yes! I have a friend that was breastfeeding and when she went back for her 6 week check up she was pregnant. So be careful if you do'nt want to get pregnant again. Breastfeeding doesn't count as birth conrtol, I have heard that before, but it's not true. Good luck.

YES! Breastfeeding does NOT keep you from getting pregnant. It's a horrible myth.
Your body is so fertile right now, and used to being pregnant, it's 100 times easier to get pregnant than it ever was before!

From what I understand....yes...this just happened to a friend of mine. It wasn't 4 weeks, but pretty close....I think it was six weeks, or something like that. And the breastfeeding thing is false...you can still get pregnant while doing that.

Yes it is. I have an acquaintance with two friends who did this. That is very dangerous for your body, because you should not even be having sex for 6 weeks following delivery, even if you had a C-section. Plus, your attention should be focused on your baby and yourself ... the husband comes in third and his sexual needs come in 452nd for awhile. I'd wait until my 6 week check up with the ob-gyn and ask him or her when it would be safe for me (and for my future baby) to get pregnant again. Plus, I think your milk will dry up as your body prepares for the next baby. If you're serious about nursing this one, that's a huge consideration as well.

Although I must say, I really admire your energy level. It was all I could do to shower and do my makeup every day when my son was a newborn! I thought I'd never have energy for sex ever again.

You can become pregnant at any time after having a baby even if you are breastfeeding if you aren't taking any precautions.

Yes. My mom ended up with babies 11 months apart that way. But it is also possible not to have a period while you are breastfeeding.
