im broke and want to fish offshore. Tampa area if you need a fishing buddy and have a boat btw. do i need to get it registered if its a floating hunk of crap?

I don't suppose it would be illegal to build it. Now getting it past a Coast Guard inspection is another story.

It's legal, but that doesn't make it a good idea.

I believe you only have to register a boat if it has a motor, but check with your local parks & rec department for the details of your state.

yes you have to get it registered if u r using the boat rugularly to fish but if u r using for a temprory purpose u don't need to register.

i know you can do it on private property but if it's offshore you might check with some officials before you try it.

i don't see why u would need to get it registered as long as it floats its good. and besides its not illegal unless u get caught.
