Is this not a slap in the face to McDonalds? It seems blatant that he'd accept sponsorship from the one big competitor.

A a loooooooooong time fan of Bill Elliott,,a fan club member for soooooo many years,,,I asked the same question for myself,,,but as you remember(NASCAR fans) MacDonalds dropped him as a sponser just before he sold his team and went to drive for Ray Evernham and Dodge,,so he does not owe anything to MacDonalds anymore,,,as a fan,,I wish he would either stay with Evernham as their "test" driver,,or retire,,,for him to drive a Chevy is bad enough(and I'm sure his father who was a FORD man fromthe word go is already turning over in his grave many times,,the man hated Chevys,,read Bill Elliotts book, its in there),and so when he started racing Dodge,I'm sure that was not good, but now CHEVY!!!,,,as for his sponser, Burger King,Bill Elliott has to do what he need's to do,,,and I beleive its going to be "Red Bull" as a sponser next year for Waltrip racing not Burger King

Ok the dude who says he can't win a race needs to look at Bill Elliotts history as a driver... People irk me.
In today's world, it is difficult to get sponsorship due to today's economy (ty George Bush). I guess if Bill had changed from McDonalds immediately to drive for Burger King I would have thrown a fit but it has been so long since he drove for them I don't have a problem with it. He no longer has a contract to fulfill so let him race the WHOPPER!!

Burger King will be sponsor for Michael Waltrip Racing next year. Bill was just driving the car for Michael.

well, he can't win a race, so he has to figure out some other way to pay the bills - i.e. product endorsements from any company who will have him.
