Jail is what is referred to usually as a "holding facility, until sentenced. You may be more interested in women who have served time in prison instead. I worked extensively with ex-offenders while in graduate school. Most of the women were assigned to a federal prison in Connecticut. Most were for "white collar" offenses. And the bulk of the others were there for drug related offenses. Many told me that the women developed relationships of a sexual nature with other women, and fights over territory and the unwritten pecking order occurred daily. Basically, their day started at 5a.m. for work, 8 hour shifts. After that, some attended some form of drug rehabilitation group, training, or educational classes. Lights out at 9p.m. Same schedule all day every day.

Jail is simply jail. I only had to sit in jail over night for beatin the crap outa some girl that couldn't keep her mouth shut at a bar. So I didn't get the real experiences that most people do.

Probably like being locked up & losing all this "citezen's rights" & all that. OH and then when you get out, you'll have a criminal record & have to put that on aplications for the rest of your life, unless you lie, in which case if your employer finds out you'd be fired & .... OH its a viscious cycle.... Just don't get locked up if you can avoid it-that's my advice. If you can't avoid it, then good luck sweetie, it isn't a nice place. Especially in big cities. Those are the worst usually.

I have and I think it's the worst thing that I've ever been through. It's dirty, embarassing, and degrading. Most of the women there aren't very friendly and are dirty too. Don't ever go there if you can help it.
