Im going to audition for the play "once upon a mattress" and i need to pratice and sing a broadway style song for the audition. I need help in finding song choices for my audition, that comes with sheet music for the accompanist to play. So if anyone can help it would be really appreciated. I want something that i can print off the internet, and not have to buy. So i need help in finding some broadway style song for me to sing, and the sheet music that comes with it. Thanks

Tells you about the show. As for a song, I could say pick any sopranoish ingenu song you can think of and it'll fit.

Uh, I think you need more help than anyone here can give you. Most people who are auditioning for a musical, are already versed in music (they can read it and have much sheet music in their possession, as they have been practicing for years). If you need to ask what you should sing at an auditon, then you ARE NOT READY to audition for this type of thing. You cannot print sheet music off the Internet. Broadway style songs take a lot of talent to sing and somehow, I don't think you're ready, in view of the fact you seem to be totally in the dark on this one. Most people who KNOW musci are well aware of many Broadway style songs. I think you need a reality check here.

There are several sites that provide sheet music but they are all pay sites. If you know how to access the Usenet you might find something there BUT...the time it's going to take you is going to cost you more than the sheet music would have. Do yourself a favor. Decide what you want to sing then go buy the music. I'm not telling you this to make life harder. I've tried to find real and FREE sheet music on the net for a few projects. It always ends up being a waste of time.
Good Luck

Since current music is most likely copyrighted, you will probably have to pay something for the music unless you pirate it. You can purchase song books with lyrics and piano accompaniment at your local music store. There should be a section for voal sheet music, and most places can order music for you if they don't have it in stock at the time. If you are thinking of trying out for more musicals than this you might want to invest in an anthology of broadway songs. There are many in print and you will be able to choose from literally hundreds of songs for less than what you would have paid on the internet for just one. Happy hunting!

My husband and son are currently doing that show! The hard part about the music deal is that you are going to have to go to a music store or buy it online. My son has looked everywhere on the net for the same thing and no luck! I hope you get the part you want! My son sang a song from Wicked, by the way.

It is against my better judgement to do this but....

Libraries have sheet music a lot of the time.
Look for Rogers and Hammerstein Cinderella.

A library card is cheaper than going to a store... or fed ex.

Break a leg!
