Afterall, Reagan gave weapons and funded the terrorist training camps to beat the communists out of the Middle East. And look where that left us. Friends with Russia (through civil talks and good foreign relations) and trying to fight an enemy we created. Good thing you guys always have a plan, even if it isn't a long term one!

Rox, here we go again. I did NOT say Taliban, and I did not say we were friends with communists. I said we funded terrorist training camps, which we did, you can find this in the same source you are using, you just have to read it all. And I said we were friends with Russia, as a result of peaceful talks, and good foreign relations. Reagan could've taught Bush about that. Please, no more word twisting. I won't allow it.

i find it ironic that the same people america despises sadam and bin laden are the same ones that repulican administrations (regan, bush sr.) supported and funded. and they blame clinton for everything.

First of all... We did not give The Taliban weapons to fight the Russians... We were supporting the Mujahideen, Whom after the conflict with the Communists and sending their butts pack'n moved up to the north of Afghanistan and became the Northern Alliance. Whom all ways were our allies, and still are in Afghanistan, In fact when we where hit on September 11 they where the first to retaliate against the Taliban for harboring Al Quaeda by sending rockets into the southern Taliban controlled part of Afghanistan. Just because it is the same country does not mean it is the same Government, It is not.
Which brings me to my second point. You say we where against the Communists and now they are our friends. Also not true.
We were against the communists but Russia is no longer a Communist country, Russia is as different from the Soviet Union as the Mujahideen is from the Taliban....
You obviously don't have full use of your reasoning right now... The point I made is that the groups that we are at war with and are friends with now are not the same people they where and you are implying that they are.... Your question is based on a false statement... we supported a group against another group but they ain't the same groups. GET IT?? And you did say we where helping the Taliban. you said we where fighting the enemy we created....which means we created the Taliban (whom we invaded Afghanistan to fight) which isn't true the people we supported moved to the north of the country.. Another thing about the Peacefully talks from Reagan... BULLSH!T we crushed the Soviet Union through Reagan's Idea of "PEACE THROUGH SUPERIOR FIRE POWER" The very thing you whining libs won't let us do any more.,,, Hypocrites
Please get your facts from more than one source...

Communism is not as bad as fascism. Hitler's extreme right-wing ideas led to the horrors of World War II, and the communist Soviets were on our side to help defeat him. Think about that the next time someone says we should move farther to the right.
With all three branches controlled by the Republicans, our government has become fascist, and a change is desperately needed. Exercise your rights and vote the right-wing incumbents out of Congress in November.

Sometimes the enemy of my enemy is my friend. It is the same thing that happened in WW2, we were allies with USSR during the war, even though we didn't really like them. After WW2, we spent the next 40+ years in a cold war with USSR. Why not criticize FDR and Truman for not having a plan? Just because they have a D behind their name and not an R? How is that any different than being a racist?

All you ever do is attack great Americans like Ronald Reagan. What about your hero Bill Clinton selling missile guidance systems to the Chi-Cons. I even sent you a link so stop saying I can't back anything up.

Communism works when it is done properly and not taken to extremes. Some current communist countrys just give the theory a bad name, which is why nobody wants to try it.
Democracy doesnt work, look at the world around you.

Communism in its purist state is an admirable form of self governance. However communism does not take into account the human ego -- not enough checks and balances.
But it is this country's foreign policies that has come back to bite us in the butt.

Communism is a failed experiment. Even Marx knew it wouldn't work.
In a simpler time things were communistic, the hunters hunted, the gatherers gathered, and the spoils of their labor were shared.
Once someone owns something its difficult to tell them its not theirs anymore.

You see girl, things need not to be so complicated.
Communism is better untill it protects its own citizen's rights.
Communism is better untill it believe in other countries too.
Communism is better untill it is for peace inside as well as outside its domain.
Got it !!!
So, nothing is better or worse, its the creation of our mind and we mould our thoughts acc. to our creation.
Good Question.
