It has to be the Cardinals. The AFL Chicago Cardinals (same team until they change their name... there are zero cardinals in Arizona) will reach the playoffs and win one, possibly two, playoff games this season. With Leinhart being taught by Warner, James rushing for 1,600+, and Larry Fitzgerald emerging as a legit number-one receiver with hands of glue, the addition of the new Glendale Stadium, and a playoff experienced coach in Green, the Cardinals will be, dare I say it, "good." They will definitely not make it to the SuperBowl, as Denny Green will choke once again in the post season and coach his way out of a title.

Oh, Baxter, the Cardinals were never in the AFL. The Chicago Cardinals were originally in the NFL predecessor American Professional Football League. They moved from Chicago to St. Louis in 1960. They moved from St. Louis to Phoenix in 1988.

If the Seahawks succumb to the curse of the Super Bowl Loser, look for the Cardinals to pick up the slack in the NFC West.

My 2nd choice would be the Lions. Mike Martz may be able to work some magic on the Detroit offense, but they will need to score a lot because their defense is sub-par.

I don't believe that the Cardinals being successful this year will be a surprise. The surprise would be the washed-up Kurt Warner still being under center by Week 6.

The one on the list that should have the biggest improvement over last year would be the Saints.

I'm going to say the cardinals will, because they play in the NFC West. They will have the victories to show they have improved. The other teams on your list play in tougher divisions. The packers and lions are down, doesn't matter what division, or conference for that matter. They suck right about now.

the saints will be a big surprise, they have most of the tools needed for a championship team. they have Drew Brees who is coming off 2 great seasons at San Diego, he has Donte Stallworth who has blazing speed and Joe Horn who is a good verteran receiver, and they have Reggie Bush who has all the potential to be a superstar in this league if he stays healty. But thier defense will keep them from getting to the Super Bowl.

well im a Packer fan, but i would have to say the Lions, finally no Harrington and with Mike Martz as a cordinator on offense they should make a run in the NFC this year

Id have to say the Lions. Because everyone expects them to be half way decent but they probably will do bad again, but if they do bad again people will wonder why and still be somewhat surprised.
