If you can, be standing (not sitting!) in front of a mirror when you are doing the interview. Smile - you'll see it in the mirror (which should give you a little lift) and they will hear it in your voice!

And, be prepared! Show interest in the company!

Most employers today are under the impression that applicants are lazy - just clicking on "Apply" for any job that they see. So, be sure to show them that you are different!

* Visit the employer's Website - what do they do and how long have they been doing it? Where are they located? If more than one location, which one is the headquarters? See any names of people, products, or services? What else?

* Do a Web search on the employer's name to see what others are saying.

Work your research into the conversation if you get a chance. Use it as the basis of questions you ask them - and, be sure to ask them questions! It shows that you are interested and prepared, and the answers will help you make a decision about working there.

Good luck!!

Be clear and concise in your answer the same as if you arein person. Do not ramble on and on. Ask direct questions concerning the job and environment in which you will be working and listen to the answers and provide some kind of feedback to show that you are a good listener. Most of dont joke around too much as this maybe seen as a someone who is nervous or not very professional. Try to arrange and inperson interview if possible if this is more to your strong suit

Avoid common pause words- "like," "um," and..." etc. Take a second to formulate answers before speaking. You can also repeat a question in sentence form to ensure you understand what they are asking. Literally smile while you are on the phone, it will come through the line. Wear something professional or something that makes you feel powerful and confident. That too will show. Good luck!

Many times in phone interviews, as in face-to-face interviews, "less is more." Try not to ramble, use filler words like "um" or "like" and spend ample time rehearsing what you want to say. Your responses should be concise and well articulated. Since you are not able to display professionalism through your appearance (dress, body language, etc.) it is even more important that you convey those characteristics verbally. Also spend some time crafting responses to questions you are likely to get from the interviewer.

Hope this helps,
Steve

Confidence, direction, accurate answers. Rephrase questions, and give good examples. Highlight your success, and your skills.

Make sure that you also correlate your experience to their business and how you feel you can make an impact to either make money or save money.

Those are the most important issues to a business and any job function is a component of that. In my opinion that is.

Have most of the things you want to say written down already. Try not to um, like, you know. Same basic things for a face-to-face interview. Good Luck!

Direct, confident. Think before you speak. Rehearse with probable questions. You do not want to stagger and stumble.

Practice, practice practice, and try to relax.
