Yes but don't leave it in all day. They need to be changed throughout the day and should be alternated between pads - use a tampon, then use a pad back and forth. Toxic shock syndrome is more prevalent in teens and women under 30 so I would not leave it in longer than you need to but I think it would be OK for the party. Have fun at the party.

You are old enough to wear a tampon when u start having periods. You just insert it and a little string is there so u can pull it out after 4 hours. And reinsert another one. Tampon wont hurt u unless u leave it in longer than u are suppose to. I think you will be ok. Would u rather stand on the sidelines why everyone else is having fun in the pool? Ask urself that and see what you think. Tampons dont hurt. They are easy to use. Good luck on your search.

I hate wearing tampons I prefer pads better. But when I go swimming at my pool or anywhere else you have to wear a tampon. Yeah you are old enough. But if you were like 12 or 13 maybe even 14 then NO!

yes you are old enough. But you need to be emotionally ready. I began wearing them later too for the same reason, scared!!! But now, there's no way I would go without them. Just get a pack and start using them. It may take a while to get insertion down pat so keep trying. Its just like anything else, you have to learn the best way to do it.

well, if youre a virgin, you should def. think of the consiquences of your vagina being too small to cram a tampon in there...
try a regular, and fyi, if you wear a tampon and the size is too big, or it hasnt sopped up as much blood as it can, it can be difficult to get out, since there will be nothing lubricating it to help it out.
some people use "lubricant" to put it in too....
BTW, you mom grew up in different times then now, please dont go by that. She might as well have told you she used to use a cloth because they didnt make pads back then ; ]

There is no reason to be afraid of wearing a tampon... I don't know why your mom waited until she was 22, but trust me, once you start using them, you will be glad YOU didn't wait until 22.
Just don't forget to change it every few hours and you will be fine. ( :

You should by the biggest size of swim diapers you can find. Wearing a tampon would mean you have lost your virginity and that you are a slut. You wouldn't want that from your concerns.

Try the smallest size available - and better try it two or three times before the pool party to feel more comfortable.

Definitely old enough. Get the smallest ones. They make them for teens. Get plenty so you can practice. Don't get frustrated-just relax, when you get it in right you won't even know it's in there.
Just remember to change it at least every 3 hours.
