i have been struglling with acne for about 9 years so i can tell you a thing or 2 about acne, Remember that everybody has different reactions to treatments and i have tried everything (even proactive) , the one i tried and thank God i found it because it is the only thing that has worked for me and it has cleared my face and that is amazing. The important thing is to use botanically based products and i found them in Arbonne. I use them because they are formulatted without mineral oil and without animal products. Mineral oil is the 2nd worse thing for the health of your skin the 1st thing would be the sun. Animal products come from Rendering Plants and they pick dead animals and they put it in a huge pot and smash everything down and boil it and the oil that comes up is what other companies use to formulate their makeup (eww the lipsticks), gross i know) and skin care products. I found this site and it has helped my family and my friends. They have a variety of products for everybody..... try it, you have nothing to loose, only acne;) they are calle Clear Advantage and they are not pricey also they have a 45 day money back guarantee....even if the product is finished so there you go,!!! http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com ... and go under shop online, they are not sold in stores but they are just amazing.... also remember these facts...
• Peak acne years are 14–17 in females and 16–19 in males. As many as 40% of females and 35% of males are affected during these years.

• Keep your hands to yourself … touching skin encourages the spread of bacteria and excess oils, leading to breakouts.

• Excessive cleansing and scrubbing can make acne worse.

I know this sounds like a commercial, but I use Proactive. It works. Your pimples will disappear the first week. The second week, you might get a few b/c the proactive pulls the bacteria to the surface to be washed away. (clogged pores might come to a head) but after that...you'll have a clear face! I pay about 40 dollars every two months. Its worth it, believe me!
If you would rather go a cheaper route, drink more water and eat less greasy foods. Also, exercise will relieve the stress hormone that causes acne. So the more active you are, the better.
hope this helps

It is not going to be an easy process, so bare with the answer. O.kay first start by using a cleanser with salicylic in it morning and night- preferably 2x's each. Then exfoliate 2-3 x's a week with a hydroxy acid and enzyme mixed exfoliate. Try to stay away from glycolics they are just to irritating to the skin. Lactic acids are always better- less irritating and they have alo more benefits. Then always use and oil-free or oil absorbing moisturizer. That's just the beginning. Change you pillow case more often, clean you cell phone regularly, try not to to touch your face to much. ALWAYS wear SPF. This will help keep you skin from scarring from you acne. Also, sun DOES NOT help acne. Over time it will produce more because the heat will stimulate your sebaceous glands and produce more oil. Check you make-up and skin care ingredients for these ingredients-mineral oil, F,D & C dyes, lanolin, fromaldihyde, SD alcohol, isopropal myristate &artificial fragrance- all of which can either cause acne or the skin to become irritated. If you have anymore question please feel free to ask.

Wash your face daily with Noxema, use an astringent, too (in the hot weather, nothing feels better than cool astringent...is what I used to do, anyway) and basically watch your diet. People say chocolate gives you pimples, but my problem came from fried foods, mostly. In the summertime, our pores are so open and sweat & dirt clogs them up, so you really need to keep your face clean. Oh, and if you want to, you can put a anti-pimple cream on them at night before you go to bed, too. Something like Clearasol (think that is how its spelled).

Use an astringent several times a day. Or just plain rubbing alcohol on the pimples to dry them out.

she's right about the toohpaste for some people, worked great on my friend & one sister. If you can get a prescription from a doctor though, the BEST treatment is Mico-A or something that contains Retin A & Tretonin (sp?)

Sometimes u can't, they are just one of these things!

Wash with anti-bacterial was at night and use T Tree oil on them. The toothpaste trick is good too, dries them out - just don't go out wih it on ur face! Do it at night!
