White phosphorus: weapon on the edge
Analysis
By Paul Reynolds
World Affairs correspondent, BBC News website

US mortar bombs can be both explosive and phosphorus

The Pentagon's admission - despite earlier denials - that US troops used white phosphorus as a weapon in Falluja last year is more than a public relations issue - it has opened up a debate about the use of this weapon in modern warfare.

Phosphorus is commonly used by our, and other militaries. All it does is burn at extremely high temperatures, enough to burn through plate armor and steel. It is significantly less lethal then say shrapnel or bullets. It doesn't have any of the connotations of weapons like napalm. Fine, let them use it, it's no big deal, unless of course you get caught up in some silly media attention grabbing scheme by an editorializing journalist trying to stir up the pot. You didn't let this happen to you did you?

The BBC, Right? The BBC is the biggest pro-terror left wing, godless media outlet on the planet. Correspondents?, at BBC have a reputation for lying, especially for the terrorists.

Many different munitions can be used in mortars, and they all kill. Whats so different about WP? It gives the cowardly terrorists a little taste for hell before they die. That's a good thing!
