Definitely go see a GYN. It could be irritated or torn tissue, could be some mild infection, or it's also possible because of type of undies you wear (make sure it has cotton crotch). But whatever it is - don't delay see GYN. And have a talk with your mom! Honesty won't hurt, and believe it or not if you're practicing safe sex at your age, your mom should be able to help you - not go against you. Hope your worries are for nothing and it's nothing serious. Good luck!

GYN is an abbreviation for a gynecologist. First, don't panic. I had something like this once too, and while of course I can't say what you have is the same, sometimes these things can just be harmless, so why borrow trouble. Get an expert opinion first. Allergies is always a possiblility. That's what mine was. Turned out I am REAL sensitive there to many kinds of soaps, especially ones with fragrances in them, and I'd scrubbed too hard and irritated it . . . well, ya know. Another possibility is a urinary tract infection. That will hang around *forever* and cause a burning sensation and often needs antibiotics to clear up and needs (I think) bloodwork to test for it, but is mostly harmless. So -- grown up doctors for grown up girls -- time to move on.
