As a new guy in the trade, everybody with experience will know in a matter of an hour your experience level. More than likely you'll start by preparing sites for paint. You will pick up the local terms as you learn the trade. But here are a few; Mask- tape, cover, and protect areas that don't get paint (windows)
caulk- seal and fill areas to be painted (around doors and windows)
cut in- paint around objects with a brush so that the rest can be rolled. Buy a GOOD brush!
roll- paint using a roller
spray- paint with a sprayer
box- a method of mixing paint buy using 2 buckets and pouring contents from one to another to mix them
over spray- the unwanted paint vapor in the air from a sprayer and/or the paint drips that come off a roller when rolling to fast
dry roll- painting with a roller that doesn't have enough paint on it (sometimes good for feathering or seaming)
pendejo- your nickname for the next 6 months(probably good to learn spanish) just kidding oh yea it means something like dumba**
green- not the color of paint but a term meaning you have No experience
nap- the type of mesh on a roller, fine nap means thin mesh not good sleep. lol

It reminds me of that commercial spot on TV.
TRY DOWN LOADING ALL OF THE KEY WORDS ON A PAINT CAN AND THE INGREDIENTS, THEN LOOK UP THE DEFINITIONS OF EACH WORD. THEN MAKE UP YOUR OWN WORDS FOR ORIGINALITY.

Then make sure you have all the legal jargon down so some one doesn't take you to court via law suit.

The biggest thing you are going to need to know is if the paint you are going to use is oil or water based. THEY DO NOT MIX!!! and you cannot put water-based over oil.
